Need help planning Thanksgiving Dinner? Here’s our Recipe Guide!
Hello to the beautiful days of fall. Trees change color, and the weather is not too hot or too cold. It’s also the time for snuggling next to the fireplace with some hot chocolate!
What’s even more inviting is the Thanksgiving food favorites that you’ll be able to devour such as the famous Thanksgiving Turkey, the stuffing, trimmings, and a dessert.
Now, ready your ingredients and let’s get cooking together with your Lakeland professional carpet cleaning experts!
Turkey
This Thanksgiving staple is the highlight of your centerpiece!
Once you have prepared your Turkey and your seasonings, follow these steps:
- Stuff the cavity with halved garlic heads, lemon slice (optional) and sprigs of herbs to infuse flavour into the turkey from the inside with the heat of the oven.
- Before roasting, slather it with garlic herb butter all over and under the skin to help retain all of the juices. I find melted butter works better to get all of those flavours evenly over the bird.
- Roast the turkey, breast-side down, uncovered, at 390°F (200°C) for fan forced ovens, or 425°F (220°C for standard ovens for 30 minutes. (For a turkey over 15 pounds, you will need 45 minutes.)
After, you may proceed to baste and estimate the cooking time of your Turkey, depending on its size. Serve to your guests and enjoy this classic meal!
Among others, no Thanksgiving is complete without stuffing! To whip up an easy but delicious stuffing recipe, here’s what your local affordable carpet cleaning professionals have in store for you!
Stuffing
For those who want a ton of flavor and want to make their stuffing herb and buttery, here is our own little twist on the recipe:
- Cut 1 ½ pounds of bread into cubes, place it in a large baking dish, loosely tent with foil and let it sit overnight. You can also cut the cubes and put them in the oven, toasting them at 350 degrees F, until they are like croutons, about 15 minutes or so. Or, you can buy toasted bread in the store! It really boils down to preference.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Brush a 9×13 baking dish with melted butter, olive oil or spray with nonstick spray. Place the bread in a large mixing bowl (this may be easier for you to stir!) or the baking dish that you will bake it in.
- Heat the butter in a large skillet or dutch oven over medium heat. Once melted, stir in the onion, celery and garlic with a big pinch of salt and pepper – at least ½ to 1 teaspoon each. Cook until the onions and celery soften, about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in the sage, parsley and rosemary. Cook for another minute. Stir in 1 cup of stock
- In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the remaining 1 ½ cups stock and 2 eggs.
- Pour that mixture into the bread cubes and stir and fold the bread cubes until thoroughly combined. Bake the stuffing for 45 to 50 minutes, until the internal temperature registers 160 degrees F.
After the stuffing has begun to brown, you may now tent the foil. This twist on the stuffing recipe will truly make your guests recreate this as well!
Trimmings
We’d like to say that trimmings will always be the “essential” in every Thanksgiving celebration. Below, we’re going to share recipes for potatoes, cranberry sauce, and dinner rolls!
Potatoes
- Place the quarter-cut potatoes in a large saucepan; add enough water to cover. Add 3/4 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover loosely and boil gently for 15 to 20 minutes or until potatoes break apart easily when pierced with a fork. Drain well.
- Return potatoes to saucepan; shake saucepan gently over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes to evaporate any excess moisture.
- Mash potatoes with potato masher until no lumps remain. Add butter, pepper and remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt; continue mashing, gradually adding enough milk to make potatoes smooth and creamy.
Transfer it to a bowl and it’s ready to serve!
Cranberry Sauce
This tside is the perfect Turkey Partner! Drizzle it on top and you’ve got a plate bursting with flavors! Peek the recipe below:
- Empty a 12-ounce bag of fresh or frozen cranberries into a saucepan and transfer 1/2 cup to a small bowl.
- Add 1 cup sugar, 1 strip orange or lemon zest and 2 tablespoons water to the pan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries are soft, about 10 minutes.
- Increase the heat to medium and cook until the cranberries burst, about 12 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the reserved cranberries. Add sugar, salt and pepper to taste and cool to room temperature before serving.
Serve in a bowl and drizzle away!
Dinner Rolls
Freshly-baked and fluffy dinner rolls can bind your whole Thanksgiving food experience! See our recipe below:
- Preheat the oven to 400 F.
- In a large bowl, combine 1 cup water, oil, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until yeast is bubbly (about 8 minutes). Stir in beaten egg softened butter and salt.
- With a stand mixer or by hand, add flour, one cup at a time until you have a soft dough that isn’t sticky. Knead by hand for 10 minutes or 5 minutes with a stand mixer.
- Divide dough into 18 even pieces, and form into balls. Place in a greased pan and cover with parchment paper and a kitchen towel.
- Let rise for 10 minutes in a warm place. (You can allow them to rise up to an additional 30 minutes if time allows).
- Lightly brush with milk and bake on the middle rack for 10-12 minutes or just until browned.
Now, you’ll be having the best dinner rolls in your party!
Dessert
In a celebration like Thanksgiving, no one will be skipping on dessert! For this category, we’ll be sharing the recipe of the famous Pumpkin Pie! Read on below:
- Mix together ¾ cups sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, ½ teaspoon salt, 1 can of pumpkin, 1 ¼ cups of evaporated milk (or half and half), and 2 eggs, beaten.
- Heat the oven to 425°F. In a large bowl, mix filling ingredients. Pour into pie crust.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F; bake 40 to 50 minutes longer or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 2 hours. Serve or refrigerate until serving time. Store in the refrigerator.
Serve and enjoy this filling dessert!

In this blog, get to know the different types of tile and grout, as well as the game changing solution that Lakeland tile cleaning professionals apply to keep it looking shiny and new!
Types of Tile
You’ve maybe come across different layouts of powder rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. There, you’re able to discover different styles of tile and how it complements the overall look of the area or room. Here are some examples of tile:
Ceramic Tile
Ceramic tiles are the most versatile in terms of being the common tile of choice by homeowners. Its affordability and durability makes it the ideal choice of tile in every room, especially in kitchens and bathrooms.
Porcelain Tile
Porcelain tile is a finer example of a clay ceramic tile. It’s baked in higher temperatures and has a glazed, etched, and texturized can resemble hardwood planks, expensive marble, or industrial bricks. Porcelain tiles are also denser and more durable than regular ceramic tiles.
Granite Tile
Granite is a natural rock used in both countertops and kitchen floors. It also has a waterproof feature, which makes the tile ideal for wet areas. It’s also affordable but sturdy that’s why it’s also a leading option for interior spaces.
After discussing the different types of tiles, here are different types of grout, a type of filler for joints between tiles.
Types of Grout
Grout joints would need to be sealed and properly maintained to prevent stains and discoloration. When properly protected, the tile and grout will be easier to clean, prevent staining, and foster a healthy environment.
There are three types of grout: Unsanded, Finely-sanded, Epoxy, and Quarry-type.
Unsanded grout: widely used for wall tiles, in which the grout and joint is ⅛ wide. Finely-sanded grout: used floor with the grout and joint being ⅛ to ⅜ wide.
Epoxy grout: resistant to stains and chemicals with tremendous bonding strength.
Quarry-type grout: used similar to finely-sanded grout with ⅜ to ½ wide.
Professional Tile and Grout Cleaning
Professional tile and grout cleaning entails the use of detailed techniques in cleaning, in which the process involves cleaning all the dirt away as much as possible.
The process is done with four steps:
Vacuuming – loosens up and removes dirt or dry soil that may be present on the floor.
Mopping – removes any stains from the floor.
Steaming – this is the unique step in the whole process, in which professional floor cleaners use high-powered steamers to work around the creases of the tiles, ensuring that the dirt is removed between the cracks.
Drying – this is the last step in the process, to provide one last sweep if any dirt and stain is left behind by dabbing a clean cloth in the area that was cleaned.

Getting rid of food stains: Here’s how
Spilling red wine, smearing ketchup, and finding grease all over your carpet can be frustrating.
When it comes to food stains, it’s also a race against time. You have to be quick to clean them up before the stain can create permanent damage to your floors.
In this blog, let’s talk all about stains and how to get rid of them effectively with smart carpet cleaning solutions!
Types of Stains
For common types of stains, you can try these solutions:
Wine
Unlike its white counterpart, red wine creates a stain that is tough to clean. To contain the stain and prevent it from spreading, you may dab it gently with a clean cloth.
A common home remedy would be mixing a tablespoon of white vinegar and liquid dish soap to two cups of warm water, blotting it into the stain frequently.
Coffee
We’re sure that almost everyone can relate to this incident happening. It’s a busy morning and you’ve accidentally spilled coffee and it’s now made its way to your carpet.
Blot the stain first with a white cloth from the outside and the middle of the stain to prevent it from spreading. You can proceed to use a carpet cleaning solution, or you can make your own. Just like the wine home remedy procedure, you can replicate the process into the coffee stain.
BBQ Sauce
Cookout sessions with family and friends is always a good idea, but not so much when you notice visible stains of BBQ sauce on your carpet.
When trying to remove these stubborn sugary sauces, it’s best to clean them while it’s still fresh. Use a spoon to scoop up as much of the mess as possible.
If the stain has mostly dried, you can use the back of the spoon to scrape the mess. You can mix liquid dish soap with 8 ounces of warm water and lightly spray on the affected area. After spraying blot with a clean cloth or towel.
While these are amazing home remedy processes and you’ll be able to see results of the stain fading, you’re still not guaranteed of a thorough cleaning. There will be small pigments that will still be present in your carpets that only professionals can achieve to eliminate with their cleaning products.
